Airedale Terrier
Mountain West Dog Fanciers
A Guide to all things "DOG" in the Western Mountain States

Basic Description: The Airedale is considered the "King" of the terriers. He originated 100 years ago in the Valley of Aire, England, that hunter's
paradise harboring fox, otter, badger and rats. He is one of our earlier police dogs, popularized deservedly as a war dog, as vermin exterminator
and as a guard. That dark marking over the back is called a black saddle. The Airedale Terrier is the largest of all the terrier breeds. Airedale's are
a good natured and fun-loving breed. They have an excellent reputation with children, but should always be supervised during play.
