Basic Description: The Curly Coated Retriever is probably the oldest retrieving breed currently being worked and shown in the United
States. The breed was developed in England, particularly for retrieving ducks from the water. Robust and independent but devoted family
dogs. Curly Coated Retrievers are, never the less, uncommon, ranking last in the U.S. among retrieving breeds.
