Basic Description: The Pekingese is a well-balanced, compact dog of Chinese origin with a heavy front and lighter hindquarters. The
Pekingese has long, straight, thick profuse coats, which requires regular brushing to prevent knots and mats from forming. Its temperament
is one of directness, independence and individuality. Its image is lion like, implying courage, dignity, boldness and self-esteem. The
Pekingese is a dignified little dog who can sometimes be stubborn.
