Basic Description: The Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen’s origin can be traced back to 16th century France. He was developed to hunt small
game over the rough terrain of the Vendeen region. One of his most distinguishing characteristics is his rough, unrefined outline. It is
important for this breed to be compact, casual and rather tousled in appearance. Happy, extrovert, independent, yet willing to please.
Petit Basset Griffon Vendéen is pronounced "Puh-TEE Bah-SAY Gree-FOHN VON-day-uhn."
