The Southern Colorado Kennel Club (SCKC) is a member club of the American Kennel Club. SCKC dates its beginning to
a club formed in the 1930s by a group of people with an interest in purebred dogs. The first AKC sanctioned shows and
obedience trials were held on May 25, 1955. The Southern Colorado Kennel Club became an AKC Member club on
December 13, 1988.
In addition to the annual shows held in November of each year, the SCKC offers ongoing training classes that consist of
obedience, conformation, rally, puppy and therapy dog classes. These classes are currently held on Wednesdays
throughout the year and are offered to the public.
