My wife and I moved to the Western Slope of Colorado in the summer of 2004 from the overgrown metropolis of Las Vegas, NV.  Having three
generations of Boston Terriers and years of involvement in Dog Shows and Clubs, we set out to find the local kennel club.

We looked in the phone book, newspapers, and local publications, we asked different Veterinarians and numerous people where the kennel
club held their meetings. No information was found anywhere locally.

We finally went to the show superintendents website (www.onofrio.com)and found the information about the local show. It was the very next
weekend. Well, we missed getting our dogs entered, but went to the show and found out where and when the meetings were.

We were quite honestly used to having literally hundreds of dog fanciers to communicate with and started looking for them in the Rocky
    Mountains.

WOW! I thought finding the club was tough.

To look at a show catalog for the local club you would suspect that there were hundreds of dog fanciers in the area. There are, but not all in
one town, and the Rockies are mostly rural in population and catalogs don't give phone numbers or e-mail addresses.

Have you noticed the cost of postage lately? Also, if you just drive up to a show dog owners house and try to say " I just want to get to know
you, so we can talk dogs", they look at you like it's time to call the mental hospital.
I personally would not even open the door unless I know you. Safety of our dogs is paramount and out of courtesy, a surprise visit is not
    recommended.

I was then convinced of the need for a directory of sorts to help Dog Fanciers connect.

By connect, I mean be able to find information that will help them in any aspect of caring for their best friends.
This information may be Club locations, Vets, Groomers, Trainers, Rescue groups or just another person that has the same breed of dog to
    ask questions of.
As you have probably noticed, your dog cannot talk to you in the conventional way, and it takes years of dedicated attention to learn their
language. It helps to have another dog lover to communicate with when questions arise.

Since printing costs and postage are beyond affordable, I decided to produce a website to hopefully fill this need.

This endeavor has taken over three years of research to find the information that is included in the site that you now visit. And due to clubs
changing their board members on a regular basis and companies that come and go, I cannot guarantee total accuracy as to information. I
have done this myself, with very little outside help in the researching and I am just one OLD man who loves dogs [not complaining-just
explaining]. You can help by sending corrections and other ideas for inclusion.

If you would like to join our effort and list contact information about you or your dog related business please let me know. If you find errors,
have suggestions or comments I would sincerely appreciate hearing from you.

The site is, and will probably continue to be, under construction. I have attempted to make it as easy to find the information as I can. (at least
until I get better at site building). Much of the information is in pdf (portable document format) and requires Adobe reader to open. Most
computers already have this installed, but if yours doesn't you can download or update for free by using the link in the upper left corner of
    each leading page.

The information is intended to be helpful to all dog lovers and for that reason it is offered free of charge. You can print the portions that are of
interest directly from this site, but please, maintain the copyright(s) that may be included and do not sell prints.

If you have read this far, you are probably interested in dogs and communicating with other dog fanciers. If you
would like contact information about yourself, your organization or business included, please contact the
    webmaster.

Please enjoy your visit and check back often.
